Admission to 4 schools in Year 1 at HKUST

For students who are interested in the T&M-DDP but need more time to decide the technical track, they can first apply admission to any school at HKUST. Student will join Major Selection Exercise to apply T&M-DDP and declare major at the end of Year 1.

* For School of Science (SSCI) students would like to declare T&M-DDP as major, they can choose BSc in Biotechnology and BBA in General Business Management.

^ For School of Engineering (SENG) students would like to declare T&M-DDP as major, they can choose Engineering majors offered by T&M-DDP and BBA in General Business Management. Please refer to Program Structure for Engineering majors offered by T&M-DDP.

Entrance requirement in Year 2 of T&M-DDP

We expect our students to:

  • Have potential to be a leader and the capacity to work in a team
  • Be good at English communication and presentation skill
  • Possess a global outlook, maturity, caring and innovative
  • Be passionate about business project
  • Always welcome pressure and challenge

Your CGA, HKDSE, and English language exam results will be also considered. Interview is a must for admission.

Program requirement:

  • CGA: 3.25 or above
  • HKDSE English ≥ 5  or  LANG1002/ 1003 ≥ A- or IELTS ≥ 7.0 and no subgrade < 6.5
  • Pre-admission results are taken into consideration


Ranking Criteria:

  • Holistic assessment is based on CGA, selected course performance, CV profile and interview performance

 

 

Recommended Pre-major Courses

First year students interested in declaring T&M-DDP as their major are recommended to take the following courses in the first year of study:

Students from SENG    
  • [(MATH 1012 or MATH 1013 or MATH 1023) and (MATH 1014 or MATH 1024)] or [MATH 1020]
  • PHYS 1001 or PHYS 1112 or PHYS1152 or CHEM 1010 or CHEM 1020
Students from SBM    
  • MATH 1012 or MATH 1013 or MATH 1022 or MATH 1023
  • ISOM 2500
  • ECON 2103 or ECON 2113

 

Remarks: All students are NOT allowed to use SOSC1440 to substitute the required courses [(ECON2103/ 2113) and (ECON2123/ 3123)] for all Engineering majors offered by T&M-DDP.

 

No Biology or HKDSE 1/2x Biology

For students who did not take Biology or took 1/2x Biology in HKDSE are required to take LIFS 1901 and LIFS 1902 in the first year of study.

HKDSE 1x Biology

For students who took 1x Biology in HKDSE are required to take LIFS1902 in the first year of study.

 

Remarks: All students are NOT allowed to use SOSC1440 to substitute the required courses [(ECON2103/ 2113) and (ECON2123/ 3123)] for BTGBM major offered by T&M-DDP.

 

 

Major Declaration Exercise Procedure

Year 1 students in School of Engineering, School of Science and School of Business & Management, they can select T&M-DDP as one of your major choice with Major Declaration Application via respective schools.

 

Application period:   

March to April (According to Schools' schedule)

Interview period:  

June (After re-prioritization period - Suitable candidates will be selected and received interview invitation)

Result announcement:    

Result will be announced by Schools in late June

Year 1 students in School of Humanities and Social Science should submit Program Transfer application form, together with CV and unofficial transcripts, to IPO.
